Romanian Bible
Welcome to Romanian Bible! You are one of the MANY visitors of the first
site containing the
Romanian Version of the Word of God!
The year 1999 was very important for my life. It was
then when I first connected to the Internet, it was then I started to look
deeper into Romanian spirituality, Christianity and Romanian obedience to
God. The fire that I felt in my heart, was partly caused by my latinity, but
today I am convinced that above all, it was coming from God, as I have never
been more passionate about anything else.
As I had searched over the net, I came across an international website, containing the condensed versions of the Bible in various languages. With the webmaster's permission, I downloaded the .zip file. Thus, I built the first page containing the Romanian Bible. Later on, I bought the domain name http://www.bibliaromana.com
January 2005: The visitors of Romanian Bible website have decided! More than half of our visitors consider that both the Old Testament and the New Testament are equally important. 53% of those who voted read both the Old Testament and the New Testament. 29% of the visitors only read the New Testament, whereas 18% prefer the Old Testament. (This is not a scientific poll.)
April 2005: The visitors of Romanian Bible website have decided! Nearly half (48%) of those who participated in the poll have said they prefer King David better than the rest of the kings of Israel. 22% voted for Solomon, whereas King Saul obtained 10% only. 15% of those who voted like all three kings equally and 2% like none of them. As you may remember, King Saul was the first human king of the chosen nation. He was elected because of his imposing stature and because the people liked him. Nevertheless, God rejected Saul, as he was an arrogant and impulsive man. The Lord has chosen David to replace Saul. David's heart was pleasing before God, who gave him much glory and a successor to the throne. King Solomon, the son of David, was one of the most intelligent minds of his times. He was the builder of the first Temple in Jerusalem, dedicated to the Lord. Nevertheless, King Solomon did not obey the Law entirely; thus he married women practicing idolatry. They have pushed Solomon towards sin. Solomon is also known as one of the richest and most famous kings of the antiquity. Following his reign, the nation of Israel has divided in 2 parts: the Northern kingdom, also called Ephraim, or Israel, and the Southern kingdom, called Judah. (This is not a scientific poll.)
April 2006: The visitors of Romanian Bible website have decided! Having to chose among the ancient prophets of the chosen people, 21% of the visitors identify most with Daniel, 18% with Isaia, 7% with Jeremiah, and 4% with Ezekiel and Zechariah. 20% of those who voted believe they do not resemble any of the ancient prophets, and 7% feel they are more similar to another prophet not mentioned in our poll. Daniel, whose name means "Judgment from God" was a price of Judah, taken prisoner to Babylon. There, he proved his faithfulness, and thus his righteousness. God elevated him to the position of honor in the Empire. To find out more about the miraculous life and prophecies of this famous character, we invite you to read the book of Daniel from the Old Testament. (This is not a scientific poll.)
July 2006: The visitors of Romanian Bible website have decided! Having been asked what was their opinion regarding "The Da Vinci Code", a definite majority of 77% responded that this is a work of fiction, while only 13% believe it has some truth to it. The remaining 10% do not have an opinion. 80% of the people who voted that Dan Brown's book is a work of fiction, also perceive it as offensive and an attack to morality. (This is not a scientific poll.)
November 2006: A majority of 47% of our site's visitors have read from the Bible between 30-40 times; 17% between one and ten times, 13% once and 12% never. 5% of our visitors have read from the Holy Word between 20-30 times, and 4% between 10-20 times. This poll is a reflection of a significant pro-intelectual characteristic of our visitors. The trend mentioned above emboldens us, as it reflects one of the stated goals of our site, which is to stimulate the reader's mind, to increase her/his thirst for knowledge, especially for the wisdom that comes from the Word of God. (This is not a scientific poll.)
January 2007: We are happy to note that most of our visitors consider Christmas signifies happiness and spiritualitate. When asked what is the personal significance of Christmas to their life, 84% answered with "Happiness and Spirituality". 8% answered with "Something Else", 4% with "Spirituality Only" and 2% with "Happiness Only". Indeed, Christmas represents the celebration of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and Saviour of the world. (This is not a scientific poll.)
March 2007: When asked what is European Union's impact on Romanian spirituality, 46% of those who voted answered with "negative". 25% view this impact as "both positive as well as negative", 18% as "positive", 5% as "no implications" and 4% had no opinion. There are those who view the EU as a club of Christian nations. On the other hand, there are people who view it as a radically secular pole. There is no doubt that wealth may bring along destruction of traditional, Christian and moral values. On the other hand, prosperity could turn out to be a path to spiritual fulfillment as well... With these thoughts in mind, lets hope towards a better future, which we can influence... (This is not a scientific poll.)
April 2007: The visitors of the Romanian Bible website have decided! When asked what is the effect of Romanian integration in the European Union upon Christianity in our continent, a comfortable majority of 57% consider this impact to be positive. Approximately 20% do not believe there is a direct correlation between the 2 principles, while 10% of those who voted view this effect to be negative. Approximately 20 years following the fall of the dictatorial and authoritarian atheist-communist system, Romania fully benefits from its immersion within the great European family. The European Union is the guarantor of freedom, democracy and material welfare in Romania. Seeing that Europe is giving us so much, we should ask ourselves whether there is anything that we could give them in return? Undoubtedly, the answer to this question is very complex; nevertheless, with our 2000 year history of Christianity, with our profound moral values originating in the Gospels and in our forefathers' wisdom, with our rich tradition of guardians protecting the borders of Christian Europe, we should consider offering spiritual support to our postmodern Europe, by helping to construct and defend a spiritual backbone in our world, that will confer to Europe a new dimension, one that will respect its past, take into consideration the present and anticipate the future...(This is not a scientific poll.)
August 2007: We are very happy to report that a vast majority of 97% of our visitors strongly believe or tend to believe in God. The poll, which took place during the summer of 2007, asked the following question "Do you believe in God?". While 95% people voted with a definite yes, 2% voted with maybe. The remaining 3% voted with "without opinion", "no" and "possibly no". We will take this opportunity to remind everyone that this website's number one purpose is to promote Bible study. The core message of the Bible is that God exists and that He loves us. If you are not convinced of this, please read the entire Bible and pray for power to understand its message to you. We are praying with you... (This is not a scientific poll.)
November 2007: A large proportion of 55% of those who participated in our poll have a very good opinion regarding the new Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church. Second place belongs to those who believe it is premature to have an opinion (17%). 7% are indiferent. The rest either have a good opinion or not so good. (This is not a scientific poll.)
During the automn of this year, the Romanian Orthodox Church (BOR) Electoral College has chosen Daniel as the new Patriarch of the Church, who is widely believed to belong to the reforming wing of the BOR. Patriarch Daniel studied in Bucharest, Strasbourg and Freiburg, and has been a professor of Theology in Switzerland and Germany.
February 2008: When asked whether icons have a particular meaning in their lives, 45% of the participants to our poll considered that icons represent a way towards God. At the same time 30% of those who voted responded that icons have absolutely no meaning in their lives. 11% viewed icons as a source of faith. The remainder of our voters identified icons as either mysticism or an object of worship.
April 2008 For nearly 81% of our visitors, the prayer means to directly communicate with God. 17% of the people who participated in our poll have responded that prayer mostly implies a worship process. For 1%, prayer is mainly a ritual. Nobody thought that prayer mostly means to bring a list of priorities before God. The theological importance of prayer is immense. Many PhD students of the Bible have commented on it. What we must understand above all though, is that when we come before God, no matter what our reason is, we must be humble before Him, we must absolutely no doubt that He personally istens to us. This means that we must give Him the honour that He deserves, as He is the King of kings and Lord of lords. Meanwhile, we must not forget that He is also our loving and good Father. Therefore we must be convinced that He has the power to help us, and, as a good Father, He will, if our requests are good before Him.
May God bless you all!
